Thorburn on the front end paper, a Christmas inscription signed "Laurier House" Ottawa, December, 1927. A further inscription beneath it is from Charlotte Whitton (former Mayor of Ottawa), and describes how the book was given to her by Mrs. Thorburn in 1951, and that she is now [in 1966] passing it on to a new owner. The engraving is on a sheet measuring 10.5 x 8 inches, matted, the matte measuring 16 x 13.25 inches. Original fold-marks visible as always, the left margin trimmed to the plate line, the other margins larger. A clean and attractive copy with no damage. This engraving was issued in the June, 1760 issue of The London Magazine, to accompany a 3-page story entitled "Account of the glorious Raising of the Siege of Quebeck".
