Two volumes. 572 + 580 pp. Half-calf & marbled boards, olive coated end papers, edges stained red, spines lettered in gilt . Frontispieces, many maps & plates. Folding colour map at the end of Volume 1. Foxing to a few leaves, a very clean and near-fine copy. Also published as "Africa and Its Exploration as Told by Its Explorers" (London: Sampson, Low, 1891, in two volumes or six volumes). This 1895 2-volume edition has new title pages with the altered title, but the running title in the book is still "Africa and Its Exploration". A very nice copy of an uncommon set. This set is heavy, and will incur extra postage costs.
