Chicago: Thompson & Thomas, (1902). 
Original colour pictorial wrappers designed in orange, blue, black, purple and green; spine lettered in black. A bit chipped at the spine ends, paper browned, but an unusually nice copy, tight and clean. Not so common in the paperbound issue. The first edition was published by Neely in 1897.

Chicago: Daily Story Publishing Company, 1900. First edition. Purple cloth, white cloth spine, front cover and spine lettered in gilt. 20 inserted plates by J. Greville Wilmot. Inner rear hinge cracking, a couple of ownership names on front fly leaf, moderate shelf wear to tips and edges; generally a fairly bright, very good copy. This anonymously edited anthology contains thirty stories by popular authors of the day, including Opie Read, Mary E. Wilkins, George Ade, Albert Bigelow Paine, Stanley Waterloo, Irving Bacheller and others. There are several supernatural & fantastic stories, including a mummy story by Opie Read: "The Princess Yepti." Also issued with the imprint: Jamieson-Higgins Co., 1900. Wright III: 4931 [this edition located in LC and O only]. Quite uncommon.
