1 James (Henry) Terminations. The Death of the Lion. The Coxon Fund. The Middle Years. The Altar of the Dead.
NY: Harper & Brothers, 1895. First American edition, first binding. Light green decorative cloth, designed in dark green and gilt. This is an ex-library copy, with remnants of library labels on front and back end papers, embossed stamps on title page and next leaf; there is a patch on the spine where a label was removed, and a gouge in the back cover. For all that, quite a bright and attractive copy, very good otherwise. Edel A45b. BAL 10615. The first edition was published in London by Heinemann, 1895. The story "The Altar of the Dead" is a ghostly tale. This copy is from the library of Sherlockian and publisher John Ruyle.
