1 Quincy (Edmund) The Haunted Adjutant and Other Stories. Edited by His Son, Edmund Quincy.
Boston: Ticknor, 1885. First edition. cat40a
Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Frontispiece portrait of the author. Some fading and speckling to the spine, a bit of wear to the spine extremities and tips, and some dust soiling, otherwise a very good copy and very fresh internally, with a small Ticknor prospectus still tucked in near the front. The title story is a ghostly tale which takes place on board a ship; two of the other stories concern the lives of slaves. Quincy was the son of Josiah Quincy, who was president of Harvard, and an important American politician.
