1 Phillips-Wolley (Clive) The Queensberry Cup.

London: Methuen, 1895. First edition. Wine cloth, spine and front cover designed and lettered in gilt. Frontispiece & 6 inserted plates. Front free end-paper removed, some dust soiling and a few marks to cloth, an old catalogue entry for the book pasted to the front fly leaf, a very good copy. 32-page publishers catalogue at rear dated September, 1895. Born in England, Wolley moved to Victoria, BC in 1890. He wrote a number of novels set in British Columbia, but this one takes place in Britain. A novel set in a boarding school called 'Fernhall" (probably based on Rossall, a school on the Lancashire coast). Much to do with sport, some of the illustrations portray boxing and fencing.
