Red cloth, spine and front cover designed and lettered in gilt. Some dust soiling, cloth a bit marked, dents to edges, a bright very good copy in general. Historical novel of the 1745 Jacobite uprising.

London: John Lane, (1931). Second edition; first published in 1930. 
Blue cloth, spine and front cover ruled and lettered in black. Spine very faded, some spotting of cloth, remains of a private library label on rear end paper; in general a clean and sound very good copy. A scarce novel by Marjorie Bowen, written under the name Robert Paye, but in this edition with the author's real name in brackets on the title page. Historical fiction set in London of the mid-18th century, much to do with inheritance and various forms of skulduggery. Bowen wrote upwards of 150 novels, this being one of the scarcer titles.
