Original brown cloth ruled in black, designed and lettered in gilt. Considerable shelf wear, tear along front hinge, front end paper torn out. An old ink stamp on the front fly leaf is from a circulating library in Eureka, Nevada. Internally quite t ight & fairly fresh. A tale, entirely in verse, of the Mormons. This is an early edition, apparently the first US edition, but we have seen a citation of an American Routledge edition dated 1871. The LC copies are dated 1872, so this 1 8 7 1 d a t e m a y b e spurious. The British edition was published by Strahan in 1872. Buchanan was a well-known Scottish author.
