Original green cloth stamped in blind, front cover designed in gilt, spine designed and lettered in gilt. Frontispiece & illustrated title page by Darley. Scattered foxing throughout, glue repair to inner rear hinge, moderate soiling of cloth, a very good copy. Spine lettering is bright, and it is not bad-looking, better than usual for this book. A popular lost-race novel set in Africa, which saw numerous editions. Wright I: 1852.
