Red cloth lettered in white. 4 leaves of facsimile letters at front. Some shelf wear and rubbing of covers, much of white lettering is chipped away, some small internal stains, but a decent copy otherwise. Printed in England, evidently this is a US issue of the British edition (Melrose, 1912). Not listed in Hubin, but this looks to be a romantic bibliomystery. It concerns a woman novelist and a villanous playwrite, scandal, and a pseudonymous novel which is withdrawn by the publishers. Also pl enty of liquor, opium addiction, and the London literary scene. A scarce book.
