Soane (George) The Frolics of Puck. London: Bull and Churton, 1834. First edition. Three volumes. Brown half-calf & marbled boards, spines designed and lettered in gilt. No fly leaves or half-titles. Some wear to joints, upper cover of Volume 3 nearly detached, generally a very good set. From the Renier Library, with ownership labels in all three volumes. Locke: Spectrum of Fantasy 2, Pg. 11. According to Locke, the adventures of Puck in the land of people, a collection of fairy-tale fantasy stories for adults. Published anonymously. An American edition in two volumes appeared the same year. An adaptation was produced in 1848: "Robin Goodfellow, or the Frolics of Puck", ballad opera by Edward Loder (6 December 1848, Princess's Theatre, London.) Uncommon in any edition. Price:
