Eliot (George) Romola. NY: John W. Lovell, 1883. Two Volumes, in original decorative wrappers. Part 1 is in tan wrappers designed and lettered in red and black; Part 2 is in blue wrappers of an entirely different design, designed and lettered in black. Issued as Volume 2, No. 79, of Lovell's Library. Both volumes bear the same Volume and Number, and both have the original cover price of 15 cents. Evidently there was a change in the appearance of the series, which took place as Romola was being published. We have not determined if matched sets of this book exist, or if all sets contain the two cover designs. Condition is generally very good, some wear to the base of the spine of Part 1, and a tear in the edge of the last 10 leaves of Part 2. The spine design was left relatively unchanged, so they do look matched when on the shelf. Price:
