2 Doyle (Sir Arthur Conan) A Duet With An Occasional Chorus.
cat40a
NY: Appleton, 1899. First American edition, probable second or third printing. Maroon buckram, designed and lettered in silver and gilt. Brown coated end papers. A couple of very small snags along upper cover edge, small ownership inscription on half title, a very bright and attractive copy. Another small ownership signature penned on the front end paper is that of noted Sherlockian Robert B. Frier. Green & Gibson A24d. This is a variant not recorded by G&G; it has the list of six Doyle titles facing the title page, as in the second printing, but the ads on page [337] are not for Gilbert Parker - in fact the Parker ads do not appear in this volume, though they are present in the first printing on page [341]. Another bibliographical puzzle to be deciphered! A nice bright copy.
