cat40a
London: Methuen, (1925). First edition, remainder issue. Gray boards, lettered in black. 8-page catalogue at rear dated "629". Slightly leaned, a very nice copy otherwise in a slighty worn, very good dust jacket, some very light chipping to the top of the spine. There is a small price reduction sticker on the spine, which is slightly chipped. The first issue was in blue cloth, with the spine lettered in gilt, and the catalogue at the rear dated "625". This collection includes two supernatural stories.

2 Anstey (F.) [Thomas Anstey Guthrie]. Tourmalin's Time Cheques.
Chicago: Donohue Brothers, [c.1892]. cat40a
Early reprint. Original pictorial wrappers, front cover printed in red & black. [206]pp., stapled. The back cover is lacking; the book is rebound in the tan lettered wrappers of Pratt's Circulating Library from Denver. Front cover is glued partly onto the original front wrapper, but it is mostly undamaged. The title is spelled differently on the front wrapper: Tourmaline's instead of Tourmalin's. The rubber stamp of Pratt's Circulating Library is stamped on the covers and all through the book, on almost every page! The British edition appeared from Arrowsmith, also in 1891. A comic novel in which a man can bank hours of time, to redeem later. An uncommon edition.
