1 Allen (Grant) Michael's Crag. With over Three Hundred and Fifty Illustrations in Silhouette by Francis Carruthers Gould and Alec Carruthers Gould.

Chicago & NY: Rand, McNally, 1893. First American edition. Blue buckram, beveled edges, spine lettered in gilt, front cover designed and lettered in gilt. Brown coated end papers. A little shelf wear to tips and edges, ownership inscription on front end paper dated 1902, in general a bright and attractive very good copy. Copies of this first American edition are also known in red cloth; there was also a later Rand, McNally edition in green cloth, with an undated title page. The first edition was published in London in 1896, by the Leadenhall Press. A strange tale of a man who believes he is the Archangel Michael, come to Earth.

2 Allen (Grant) The Great Taboo.

London: Chatto & Windus, 1891. Second Edition. Blue pictorial cloth, front cover designed red, gray & black, lettered in red & black; spine lettered in red, black & gilt. Olive floral end papers. 32-page publishers catalog at rear dated Sept., 1891. Glue repairs to inner hinges, rubberstamps on title and front fly, some wear to corners and edges, a very good copy generally. An English man & woman are stranded on an island inhabited by Cannibals who worship Tu-Kila-Kila. The taboo of the title seems to be that of cohabiting while unmarried. A scarce book in the pictorial cloth; other bindings exist. The first edition was published by Chatto in 1890; an American edition appeared from Burt in the same year.

3 Allen (Grant) What's Bred In The Bone.
Chicago: Donohue, Henneberry, [c.1900].
Brown decorated cloth, designed in red and dark green, spine lettered in gilt and dark green. A couple of small dents, paper browned, but a nice clean copy, better than usual for this cheaply-produced book. Originally published in London by "Tit-Bits" in 1891, this American edition is uncommon.
