Bourne (Randolph) [published anonymously].
Title: The Will-to-Lynch.
Seller ID: 54990
[np/nd - New Republic, 1916?]. A 4-page booklet headed "From The New Republic". A single leaf, once folded. Text on all 4 pages. No author's name or colophon. We find a reference in Scruggs: Jean Toomer and the Terrors of American History (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1998): 'Bourne had also dealt briefly with American Rare Relations in a piece for The New Republic, "The Will-to-Lynch," published in October 1916.' A comparison with the issue of October 14, 1916 shows that this is a different setting of type, so not an off-print; the text appears identical otherwise. The piece was published anonymously in the magazine. Very scarce.
