Some marks on cloth from adjacent tape, but a clean very good copy in the pictorial dust jacket, the spine of which is very faded. The jacket has been internally reinforced with tape, which has yellowed, and there are short tears and chipping to the edges. An uncommon book, especially in the jacket. Tales of criminals and drug addicts who have come back to society. One of the illustrations depicts creatures imagined by a woman addicted to morphine.

1902. A 42-page booklet, stapled, in pale green printed wrappers. One folding plate on blue paper, printed in black & red. Ownership signature on the front wrapper, light edge wear, about fine. This booklet prints the deed, mortgage, etc. for the construction of a grain elevator in Portland, Maine. It contains the details of a contract between the Atlantic & St. Lawrence Railroad Company, the New England Elevator Company, and The Grand Trunk Railway Company Of Canada. The folding plate is a map showing the intended site of the elevator, by the GTR Passenger Station on India Street in Portland, Maine.

Limited to 150 copies, 100 of which were for presentation to members of the Roxburghe Club, San Francisco. Signed by Olmsted on the title page. One little wrinkle to front wrapper, a stain to the upper edge which extends down the center pages (a spill on the booklet while opened? not very noticeable); fine otherwise.
