The Trail of the Sword., Parker (Gilbert)
101 Parker (Gilbert) The Trail of the Sword.

This is a bind-up of the serialized parts of this novel, extracted from THE ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS, 1893. It consists of 14 sections, of two leaves apiece, bound together in brown half-calf, the front cover lettered with the title in gilt. The sections span July 1 through October 7, 1893. Some rubbing and wear to the corners and edges, leather splitting along the front hinge, end papers discolored, but in general a very good copy. Large format, measuring 12 X 16 inches. Nicely presented, with all the original illustrations, as well as some additional plates which occupy the same leaves. There is no ownership signature or bookplate, and no evidence of who this was bound for, but it is the sort of thing that was sometimes created for the author when a work was serialized in this way. The regular edition was published the following year.
