Mediumistic Experiences of John Brown, The Medium of The Rockies, with Introduction and Notes by Prof. J.S. Loveland. Third Edition., Brown (John)
1 Brown (John) Mediumistic Experiences of John Brown, The Medium of The Rockies, with Introduction and Notes by Prof. J.S. Loveland. Third Edition.

San Francisco: Office of the Philosophical Journal, 1897. Third edition. Originally pubilshed in New Orleans in 1887. A second edition was published in Chicago in 1893. 192 pages, stapled. This copy is missing its covers, and the title page has a large piece missing from the lower part near the spine, affecting one word of the imprint. Title page is also worn around the edge, and has a tear across it; otherwise, a generally very good copy. Apparently the wrappers for this edition contained a portrait of the author - not present here. A rough copy of an uncommon book. See Janet LeCompte: "Pueblo, Hardscrabble, Greenhorn: Society on the High Plains, 1832-1856", for an interesting account of John Brown's mediumistic exploits.
